Nottingham University Fresher's Fair 2011
Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th September
Thank you to those of you that have signed up to the NUS discount scheme for the students at Nottingham University. Your business details will soon be up and running on the national NUS website. We are now looking for information to give out at the fresher's fair at the end of September. The BID team will be having a stand for 2 days at the fair and will be giving away cotton shopper bags to all students, as well as a guide to the town. What we need from you is information, discounts and promotions from your business to go inside these bags. The deadline for this is Friday 16th September, so if you would like to be involved, please contact the BID office on 0115 871 2037.
Carnival of Monsters Contemporary Arts Festival 2011

Carnival of Monsters is an opportunity for professional artists living and working in the East Midlands to showcase ambitious works of art in a large and diverse industrial setting outside the City Centre. Oxjam Music Festival 2011
Saturday 22nd October
This nationally recognised festival will be coming to Beeston at the end of October and will be a day and night of entertainment for all the family. Using local venues and local artists, bands and comedians, this event will help to put Beeston on the map as well as raise money for the charity Oxfam. Oxjam festivals usually take place in City Centres, so we are unique in the fact that we are the first town to host such an event. Christmas lights switch on 2011

It may seem a long way off but Christmas is only round the corner. Make sure you have this date in your diary. Although the full programme has not yet been finalised, Beeston BID will be contributing to an indoor Arts and Craft Fair along with Bjorn the animatronic Polar Bear and his keeper.
