Coffee morning/afternoons
Every week there are a number of coffee mornings and afternoons held in the HIVE Centre in the barracks. The organisers are keen to have businesses come and showcase their business to the wives. This can be in the form of demonstrations or a stall.
Lucy from Effortless Beauty on Wollaton Road spent a morning in November giving hand massages and beauty advice to the ladies. From this she gained seven bookings.
Most of the wives are new to the area and do not drive. Therefore their friends and activities tend to be centred within the barracks.
The type of businesses that would be of interest to the ladies would be: fashion, hair and beauty, children's clothes and toys, restaurants, music, gifts, art and books and household goods.
Youth Clubs
They are always interested in people to come and give talks at the youth clubs that would be of interest to children ranging from 7 years old. You would need to hold CRB checks or be willing to have one done.
The kind of businesses of interest could be: music, books, sports etc.
